Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has appealed to Olympic bronze medalist Karnam Malleswari to establish a world-class weightlifting academy in her hometown of Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. The Minister met Malleswari in Delhi and discussed the potential of reviving sports in Srikakulam, particularly weightlifting. He assured Malleswari of state government support in providing land, funds, and infrastructure for the academy. Malleswari, who is the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Sports University, agreed to lead this initiative.
