Sam Walker Inspires Roosters to Crushing Victory Over Dragons

Sam Walker produced a masterful performance on Thursday night, leading the Roosters to a dominant 60-18 victory over the Dragons in front of a packed Allianz Stadium.

After being dropped from last year’s Anzac Day clash, Walker returned with a vengeance, setting up three tries, scoring one himself, and booting 10 conversions. He was instrumental in the Roosters’ ruthless display, which condemned Shane Flanagan’s Dragons to their worst defeat under his tenure.

The Saints’ misery began early on when Moses Suli was knocked out in the opening minutes. Despite taking the early lead, the Dragons were outplayed for much of the match, with Walker orchestratring the Roosters’ attacking onslaught.

Nat Butcher, Angus Crichton, Joey Manu, and Luke Keary all crossed for tries as the Roosters piled on the points. A penalty try was also awarded after Fa’amanu Brown pulled Walker back as he attempted to dive on the ball.

The Dragons’ second-half fightback proved futile as the Roosters continued to score at will. Manu, Butcher, James Tedesco, and Joseph Suaalii added further tries to give the Roosters a resounding victory.

Anzac Day: Dragons Set to Challenge Roosters in a Battle for Supremacy

Anzac Day presents a highly anticipated rugby league clash between the Sydney Roosters and the St George Illawarra Dragons, known for its heightened intensity and exceptional performances. While the Roosters have a strong record against the Dragons in recent years, the Dragons have showcased impressive form under coach Shane Flanagan, particularly in their forward pack. This has elevated their strike players, such as Zac Lomax and Moses Suli, making them a formidable opponent for the Roosters. Sam Walker returns to the Roosters’ lineup, adding an element of creativity and unpredictability to their attack. The battle between Molo and Waerea-Hargreaves in the middle will be intense, while the performance of the two fullbacks, Sloan and Tedesco, could significantly influence the outcome.

The Raiders and Dragons: One Faces Crisis, While the Other Surprises

The Canberra Raiders are facing a significant setback with the injury to halfback Jamal Fogarty, who is expected to miss most of the season due to a torn bicep. Despite the loss, the Raiders still have a talented roster and are determined to compete for a top eight spot. Meanwhile, the St. George Illawarra Dragons have had a surprising start to the season under new coach Shane Flanagan, winning more games than they have lost. The Dragons have benefited from the coaching of Flanagan, who has implemented a tough and defensive style of play. While the Warriors have had a tough couple of games, they still have a strong team and should not be counted out. Rookie David Armstrong is set to make his NRL debut for the Newcastle Knights, taking over the fullback position in the absence of Kalyn Ponga.
