Erin McClelland Wins Democratic Nomination for Pennsylvania State Treasurer

Erin McClelland, a Democratic candidate from Harrison, has secured the party’s nomination for Pennsylvania State Treasurer. With 73% of the votes counted, McClelland had garnered an impressive 56% of the vote, leading The Associated Press to declare her victory over Democratic-endorsed candidate Ryan Bizzarro of Erie County. McClelland’s triumph comes after her previous electoral bids for Congress in 2014 and 2016, as well as her withdrawal from the race for Allegheny County executive in 2022. In the November general election, McClelland will face off against Republican candidate Stacy L. Garrity, who ran unopposed in the Republican primary.
