The vehicle held a precious item for Carter: his late mother’s ashes, which were kept in the cupholder. Despite the car’s theft, Carter found some solace when he discovered his mother’s ashes had been returned and left hanging out of his mailbox. Winter Haven police are investigating the incident and hope to recover Carter’s vehicle and find the suspect(s) responsible.
