Stolen Vehicles and Guns Seized in EPS Investigation; Two Facing Charges

Two individuals have been charged following an Edmonton Police Service (EPS) investigation into stolen vehicles and firearms. A search warrant executed at a residence near 105 Street and 38 Avenue resulted in the seizure of two stolen motorcycles, multiple firearms, and a 3D-printed gun. A 39-year-old woman was arrested and arrest warrants issued for a 37-year-old man, who was later apprehended near 142 Avenue and 80 Street in a stolen vehicle. During the arrest, police confiscated a loaded revolver, another loaded handgun, an automatic rifle with high-capacity magazines, and assorted ammunition. Authorities stressed the alarming prevalence of firearms in stolen vehicles and highlighted the increased risks faced by officers and the public.

Rental Car Theft Ring Busted at Upstate New York Airport

A group of individuals posing as rental car employees stole multiple vehicles from the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport in Upstate New York. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has reported that nine vehicles have been stolen so far this year, with eight of those being rental cars. The stolen vehicles were used to commit larcenies and robberies in Rochester and Irondequoit. Four people have been arrested in connection with the thefts, including Breanna Brummond, Nicholas Morales, and Esu Edwards. Law enforcement has implemented new security measures to prevent further incidents.

Vehicle Set Ablaze and Pushed Down Hillside in Kiski Township

Kiski Township emergency responders are currently working to retrieve a vehicle that was set ablaze and pushed over a hillside near Hicks Hill Road. The fire sparked shortly before midnight on Saturday, requiring six hours of firefighting efforts from Kiski Township police and firefighters and multiple other fire departments. Injuries were sustained by three firefighters during the operation, elevating the potential charges against the unidentified suspects from arson to aggravated arson. Preliminary investigations suggest that no individuals were present in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Access to the area is challenging for standard equipment, prompting authorities to consider utilizing heavy machinery to extract the vehicle from the ravine.
