Swartz Creek High School Students Injured in Rollover Crash, Gift Card Drive Launched

Five Swartz Creek High School students were involved in a serious car accident near Morrish Elementary, resulting in critical injuries for one student and stable conditions for the remaining four. Superintendent Rodney Hetherton expressed gratitude for their survival despite the challenging recovery ahead. The school district is coordinating a gift card drive to support the affected families with expenses incurred during their hospital stays. Drop-off locations are available at Swartz Creek High School from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays until May 8.

School Bus and Transport Truck Crash in Ontario Injures Students

Several students were injured in a collision between a school bus and a transport truck on Route 400 in Ontario on Monday afternoon. The bus driver and three students were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the transport truck driver was uninjured. A preliminary investigation indicates that the bus attempted to enter the highway and collided with the eastbound transport truck. The highway was closed for some time to allow emergency crews to work.
