India’s Cabinet Committee on Security has approved two significant deals: procurement of 240 aero-engines for the Indian Air Force’s Su-30 MKI fighter jets and the establishment of a semiconductor unit in Gujarat. The aero-engine deal, worth ₹26,000 crore, will strengthen India’s air power and defense preparedness, while the semiconductor unit will boost domestic chip production for various industries.
