Massachusetts Man to Plead Guilty in Fatal Stabbing of U.S. Marine Outside Boston Bar

Alvaro Larrama, a former bouncer at the Sons of Boston bar, is scheduled to enter a plea of guilty in Suffolk Superior Court on Thursday morning in connection with the fatal stabbing of Daniel Martinez, a 23-year-old U.S. Marine from Chicago, who was visiting Boston to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in 2022. According to authorities, Larrama fatally stabbed Martinez after an altercation outside the Union Street bar on March 19, 2022. Martinez and his friend were attempting to enter the bar while Larrama was working as the doorman when words were exchanged, and Martinez and his friend began to walk away. Larrama followed Martinez and stabbed him in the left side of his chest during a physical altercation that ensued. Investigators said security camera footage showed Larrama returning to the bar to wash his hands and change clothes before leaving out a back door. In November 2023, part-owner and daytime bartender Alisha Dumeer pleaded guilty to a charge of accessory to murder after the fact in connection with Martinez’s death. Dumeer admitted to helping Larrama change his clothes after the stabbing and was sentenced to three years of probation, including six months of home confinement.
