Despite having an average of 536 hours of sunshine during the summer months, a study has found that many Brits feel pressure to make the most of the longer days but struggle to decide what to do. As a result, 60% feel they let summers pass them by, with 39% saying they end up doing the same things they always do and 29% saying they don’t plan their time effectively.

Michiganders can expect a summer filled with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine, according to an updated forecast from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). After scattered showers and even a thunderstorm or two on Monday, sunshine has returned to southern Manitoba on Tuesday. A ridge of high pressure will keep the sun shining over northern regions today as well. Temperatures will be cooler, and north winds will be gusty during the first couple of hours of Winnipeg’s Whiteout street party tonight before easing up considerably. In northwestern Ontario, rain and snow showers are expected to clear out, making way for sunshine. The rest of the week will bring warm April temperatures to the south.
A mini-heatwave is expected to bring bright sunshine and warmer temperatures to Britain next week, with the south of the country set to see highs of 18C. The warmer weather is caused by an area of high pressure that is moving towards the UK from Friday, May 3. Temperatures in the south and east of England could hover between 18 and 22C for several days, potentially making the south coast feel like the Costa del Sol. However, a divided weather picture is expected in the immediate future, with rain and even transient snow possible in some parts of the UK this weekend.
An area of low pressure moving through Manitoba could bring showers or thunderstorms to southern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. Northern Manitoba, however, is expected to experience sunshine and gusty winds. The weather is expected to improve in time for the Winnipeg Whiteout street party on Tuesday.
