Atlantic City High School Principal Faces Misconduct Charges Amid Child Abuse Allegations Against Superintendent and Mayor

Former Atlantic City High School Principal Constance Days-Chapman has been charged with misconduct and obstruction related to allegations of child abuse against the city’s superintendent of schools, La’Quetta Small, and her husband, Mayor Marty Small Sr. In response to Days-Chapman’s departure, Donald Harris, the high school’s director of secondary education, has been appointed acting principal. Both La’Quetta Small and Mayor Small have denied any wrongdoing and will appear in court on May 15. While the school board has not publicly addressed La’Quetta Small’s employment status, its president declined to comment, citing personnel confidentiality.
