Jens Fehlinger Appointed as New CEO of SWISS Airlines

Jens Fehlinger, a seasoned Lufthansa Group executive, will take over as CEO of SWISS International Air Lines on October 1, 2024. SWISS Expands Winter Schedule with New Routes and Increased Frequencies

SWISS will expand its travel offerings in the 2024/25 winter schedule, continuing many of the routes introduced in the summer of 2024. The airline will maintain its new routes from Zurich to Washington DC, London Gatwick, Cluj-Napoca, and Košice, as well as the Geneva to Oslo route, throughout the winter. Additionally, SWISS plans to increase flight frequencies on long-haul routes to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and Shanghai.

Swiss Bread Bakery and Cafe in Ham, Richmond has been recognized as the best cafe in London in the 2024 Muddy Stilettos Awards. Owned by Tanja Burri and André Brogli from Switzerland, the bakery has been serving up unique and organic bread, pastries, and cakes since 2020. Their authentic Swiss cuisine, including chocolate croissants, chicken schnitzel sandwiches, and Zopf, has earned them rave reviews from customers. SWISS Completes AeroSHARK Installation on Boeing 777 Fleet, Reducing Fuel Consumption and Emissions

SWISS has successfully installed the fuel-saving AeroSHARK technology on its entire Boeing 777-300ER fleet, marking a significant milestone in its sustainability efforts. The transparent film applied to the aircraft’s fuselage and engine nacelles mimics the skin of a shark, reducing air resistance by approximately one percent. As a result, SWISS has reduced its kerosene consumption by over 2,200 tonnes last year, leading to a reduction of approximately 7,100 tonnes in carbon dioxide emissions. SWISS is proud to be the first airline in the world to equip an entire aircraft fleet with AeroSHARK, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable flight operations.

SWISS Launches Global Travel eSIM Service with eSIM Go

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has partnered with eSIM Go to launch a new global travel eSIM service called SWISS eSIM Powered by Breeze. This service provides passengers with convenient and affordable mobile data connectivity in over 150 countries, eliminating the need for expensive data roaming fees. The SWISS eSIM leverages eSIM Go’s digital mobile ecosystem to offer a variety of data bundle options, with access to 1,000 Tier 1 mobile networks worldwide, including 250 5G networks for ultra-fast speeds.

Swiss International Air Lines to Resume Iran Overflights and Beirut Service

Starting May 1st, 2024, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will resume overflights through Iranian airspace. Additionally, SWISS will restart regular passenger flights to Beirut from May 4th, operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This decision follows a period of stability in both Beirut and Iran, allowing SWISS to safely conduct flight operations in these areas. SWISS will continue to monitor developments and maintain close communication with authorities, ensuring the safety of its passengers and crew remains a top priority.
