Bharathidasan’s Poetic Legacy Translated into Arabic

Associate Professor A. Jahir Husain, Head of the Department of Arabic, Persian, and Urdu at the University of Madras, has translated 50 poems of the renowned Tamil poet ‘Paavendhar’ Bharathidasan into Arabic. The poems, capturing themes of nature, education, women’s rights, freedom, and more, are now accessible to the Arabic-speaking world. The translation project is a testament to the growing relationship between Tamil Nadu and Arab countries, fostering a deeper understanding of Tamil culture and literature.
