Tragedy in Uttarakhand: 10 Dead, 15 Injured as Tempo Traveller Plunges into Gorge

A tragic accident in Uttarakhand on Saturday claimed the lives of at least 10 people after a tempo traveller carrying passengers plunged into a deep gorge near Badrinath Highway. Four injured victims were airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh for urgent medical attention. Rescue operations are still underway, with SDRF and police teams working diligently on the scene. Officials have confirmed that the tempo traveller was carrying approximately 23 passengers when the incident occurred. Sadly, the driver sustained critical injuries. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed their condolences and assured that all necessary assistance is being provided to the injured. Pilgrimage activities in the area remain unaffected, with over 22 lakh pilgrims visiting the four Dhams this season.

Two individuals with injuries were promptly transported to a nearby hospital, while efforts are underway to rescue the remaining passengers.
