BJP Leader Killed, Tourist Couple Injured in Terror Attacks in Jammu and Kashmir

A BJP leader and a tourist couple were killed and injured, respectively, in two separate terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian and Anantnag districts on Saturday, just two days ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Baramulla.

In the first attack, terrorists fired on an open tourist camp near Pahalgam, injuring Farha and her husband Tabrez from Jaipur. They were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Within half an hour, terrorists shot dead former BJP Sarpanch Aijaz Sheikh in Shopian’s Hirpora. He succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

Security forces have cordoned off the areas and launched search operations.
