The Thunder Bay Finnish Canadian Historical Society (TBFCHS) is commemorating its 50th anniversary with a free public event on Saturday at the Thunder Bay Museum. The event will include presentations reflecting on the collective trauma following the loss of the Finnish Labour Temple in December 2021, as well as the unveiling of materials from a nearly 113-year-old time capsule recovered from the building’s cornerstone. The TBFCHS hopes to increase membership and activity, and expand its public access to historical collections online.
