Indian-Origin Man Arrested in Canada’s Biggest Gold Heist

An Indian-origin man, Archit Grover, has been arrested in Canada in connection with the historic gold heist from Toronto airport, which netted $20 million worth of gold bars. The arrest comes as part of a major investigation into the April 2023 robbery, where 6,600 bars of pure gold were stolen from a secure storage facility using fake documents. The cargo container, which arrived from Zurich, Switzerland, was reported missing shortly after it was offloaded and transported to a separate location. Grover was arrested at Pearson International Airport after a flight from India, and is also facing firearm-related charges in the United States. Two other suspects, Simran Preet Panesar and Arsalan Chaudhary, remain at large.
