New Tourist Rest Area in Sulu Aims to Boost Tourism and Preserve Cultural Heritage

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has launched a new Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in Patikul, Sulu, aiming to enhance tourism infrastructure and promote the region’s unique cultural and natural attractions. The TRA provides a one-stop hub for travelers, offering amenities like a prayer room, local souvenir shops, and sustainable features like solar panels and a rainwater catchment system. The initiative aims to attract both local and international tourists while ensuring the preservation of Sulu’s cultural heritage and promoting economic growth in the province.
