Workshop Fire North of Lindsay Causes $450,000 in Damage

A workshop fire on a farm north of Lindsay, Ontario, on Tuesday night caused an estimated $450,000 in damage, but no injuries were reported. Firefighters responded to the blaze on County Road 36 around 11:45 p.m. and found a fire in a workshop and implement shed containing custom-cut cedar lumber. They believe the fire started in a tractor and then spread, damaging the building and its contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Tractor Giant TAFE Wins Court Relief to Continue Massey Ferguson Business in India

The Chennai commercial court has allowed Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd. (TAFE) to continue using the Massey Ferguson (MF) brand name in India despite the termination of a trademark agreement with Massey Ferguson Corporation. TAFE, a joint venture between Massey Ferguson Ltd., a part of the AGCO Group, and Amalgamations Pvt. Ltd., has been using the MF brand for over six decades to manufacture and sell tractors in India. TAFE has alleged that the AGCO Group abruptly terminated the trademark agreement without any prior information. The court has issued a notice regarding the termination and has allowed TAFE to maintain the status quo prior to the termination.
