India and Malaysia Strengthen Ties with Strategic Partnership and Trade Agreements

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Malaysian counterpart, Anwar Ibrahim, have announced a significant upgrade in bilateral relations, elevating the partnership to a ‘Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’. This move comes with the signing of eight agreements, including an Indian worker recruitment agreement and a push for a faster review of the India-ASEAN free trade agreement. The two countries also explored collaborations in defense, technology, and digital sectors.
