India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized the regional benefits of the Chabahar Port project, despite warnings of potential sanctions from the US. Jaishankar expressed confidence in communicating the project’s broader relevance to all parties involved.
During his three-day visit to Pakistan, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi held fruitful discussions with the country’s top officials, leading to the signing of eight MoUs and a commitment to increase bilateral trade to $10 billion in the coming years. The two sides also vowed to combat terrorism and strengthen cooperation in various domains, including trade, connectivity, energy, and people-to-people contacts.
