Despite longstanding differences, India and the U.S. have managed to resolve seven trade disputes in just under a year, including the poultry dispute, which was initiated by the U.S. in 2012 over India’s import restrictions on poultry products due to avian influenza. The settlement comes on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the U.S. and India’s participation in the U.S.-led Indo-Pacific Economic Framework.
