Philippines Girl, 13, Dies from Rabies After Keeping Dog Bite Hidden

A 13-year-old Filipino girl, Jamaica Star Seraspe, tragically passed away from rabies after concealing a dog bite from her parents. The incident occurred in February when Jamaica was bitten by a stray dog while walking home from school. Despite the bite, she withheld the information from her parents, falsely claiming it was a scratch from metal wire. Two months later, Jamaica developed severe symptoms, including fever, back pain, fatigue, and difficulty drinking water. It was then that she informed her mother about the dog bite and was rushed to the hospital, where her condition rapidly deteriorated. Her autopsy confirmed that she had died from rabies encephalitis, a fatal viral disease.
