Sydney Airport has named Harmony Boonaerts, a 19-year-old from Ulladulla, as the recipient of the 2024 Trevor Gerber SYD100 Scholarship. The scholarship, established in 2020 to commemorate Sydney Airport’s centenary, supports individuals from under-represented groups in the aviation industry, such as women, Indigenous students, and those from diverse backgrounds. Harmony, who will begin studying Bachelor of Aviation Management at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), is the third woman to receive the scholarship since its inception. She expressed her passion for aviation and the significance of the scholarship in enabling her studies. The scholarship aims to increase diversity and inclusion in the aviation industry and has provided opportunities for underrepresented students to pursue their dreams in the field.
