UBS Arena, home of the New York Islanders, has received TRUE (Total Resource Use and Efficiency) Silver certification for its commitment to sustainability. The arena has partnered with Collins Building Services, becoming the first zero waste venue in the industry. Over the past year, UBS Arena has diverted over 95% of waste from landfills, composted and recycled over 1,550,000 lbs. of materials, and avoided 14.2 metric tons of CO2 emissions through reuse and donation. This achievement is part of the arena’s Sustainable Brilliance, Community Resilience framework, which prioritizes waste reduction and elimination efforts. By embracing circular thinking, UBS Arena demonstrates its leadership in sustainability and its commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
