Officials from MGT, a consulting firm hired by the Alpine School District, have recommended a two-way split of the district. The proposed split would divide the district into east and west districts, with the only difference being whether Lehi would be placed in the east or west. The recommendation comes after MGT gathered feedback from residents on five proposed scenarios, including a three-way split and keeping the district as-is. A three-way split was not supported by residents due to its potential complexity in dividing resources and assets. The school board will now determine which of the two-way split scenarios to take to voters for approval. Despite previous failed attempts to reconfigure the district, residents this time around have expressed a preference for keeping the district as one but are willing to consider a community-wide vote on the issue.
