President Joe Biden has nominated Portland lawyer Stacey Neumann to fill an upcoming vacancy in Maine’s U.S. District Court. Neumann, a private attorney and partner at Murray, Plumb & Murray, previously served as a prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maine and a federal public defender in Vermont. The U.S. Senate will vote on whether to approve Neumann’s nomination, which would fill the opening left by Judge Jon Levy, who plans to retire on May 5.
