According to recent research by Gallup, Ukrainian citizens’ trust in American leadership has significantly declined in 2023. The approval rating of U.S. leadership among Ukrainians plummeted 13 percentage points to 53%, compared to a record-high of 66% in 2022. Notably, the poll revealed that 22% of Ukrainians disapproved of U.S. leadership, with 25% expressing uncertainty or declining to respond. The decline in Ukrainian approval comes as U.S. lawmakers, particularly conservatives, voiced opposition to additional aid for Ukraine in its conflict against Russia. The U.S. Congress has not authorized further assistance since late 2022, leading to a complete depletion of available funds.
