India Embarks on Ambitious Plan to Transform Smaller Towns into Aviation Hubs

India is aggressively expanding its air infrastructure by planning 29 greenfield airports across underserved regions, aiming to connect smaller towns with global air routes and cater to the burgeoning air travel demand. The initiative, a first of its kind on this scale, includes airports in Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand, among others, and is fueled by the government’s UDAN scheme and the rapid growth of regional air travel.
