Macao, represented by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), joined fellow member cities of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network specialized in gastronomy at the inaugural UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy Annual Conference, held in Phuket, Thailand from May 10-12. The gathering facilitated exchange of best practices and discussions on crucial topics such as sustainable tourism models, zero food waste strategies and the role of gastronomy in mitigating climate change, fostering collaboration and enhancing Macao’s global recognition. The conference reinforced Macao’s commitment to advancing its status as a Creative City of Gastronomy, contributing to the UN’s Agenda for Sustainable Development.
