South Korea has strongly condemned the move, calling it an ‘anti-unification, anti-national act’.
South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has proposed a working-level consultative body with North Korea to ease tensions and resume economic cooperation. He outlined a vision for unification based on North Korea taking steps towards denuclearization. This proposal comes despite strained relations and North Korea’s recent declaration of South Korea as a ‘primary foe.’
