BAE Systems has secured a $177.8 million contract from the U.S. Navy to modernize the USS Halsey, an Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer. The contract will see the San Diego shipyard perform extensive maintenance and upgrades, including enhancing the ship’s Aegis combat system, upgrading command-and-control systems, and refurbishing living spaces for the crew.
