Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson has proposed that the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery be renamed the Richard E. Squires Veterans Cemetery in honor of his predecessor, former Atlantic County Executive Dick Squires. Squires was a Korean War veteran who served on the USS Wisconsin and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the cemetery. Levinson stated that the renaming is a fitting tribute to Squires, who dedicated his life to supporting veterans.
