Rapper NBA YoungBoy Arraigned in Utah Prescription Fraud Case

Rapper NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, has been arraigned on charges of leading a large-scale prescription fraud ring in Cache County, Utah. Gaulden is facing 46 charges, including patterns of unlawful activity, unlawful conduct-pharmacy practices, identity fraud, and forgery. The Cache County Sheriff’s Office alleges that Gaulden and several associates called in prescriptions for Promethazine with Codeine, a heavily abused cough suppressant, at pharmacies throughout the county. Gaulden’s pretrial release hearing is set for Monday, April 29.

Latter-day Saint Temples Coming to West Jordan and Lehi

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced plans for two new temples in Utah: one in West Jordan and one in Lehi. The West Jordan Temple will be located on approximately 16 acres near Sunset Ridge Middle School and Oakcrest Elementary School, while the Lehi Temple will be situated on a 22.5-acre spread near Viewpoint Middle School and Texas Instruments campus.

Uintah Basin Man Sentenced to Prison for Extortion

Leallen Blackhair, 47, used his position as the Compliance Supervisor for the Energy and Minerals Dept. of the Ute Tribe to extort $109,925 for personal gain over three years. He reportedly used the money on dining, shopping, and trips to amusement parks. Blackhair reportedly convinced companies to pay him personally by offering to reduce fines against them.
