In honor of the late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union minister V Srinivas Prasad, the Karnataka government has announced a holiday in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts on Tuesday, April 30. Prasad, a prominent Dalit leader, passed away on Monday, April 29, at the age of 77 due to age-related ailments. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed their condolences.
