Maharashtra Raises Fees for ‘Choice Numbers’ on Vehicles, VIP Plates Now Cost Up to Rs 18 Lakh

The Maharashtra government has increased fees for ‘choice numbers’ on new vehicles, significantly raising the cost of coveted VIP plates. The most sought-after ‘0001’ number for four-wheelers now costs up to Rs 6 lakh, while out-of-series VIP numbers can cost as much as Rs 18 lakh. The government has also introduced new rules for transferring VIP numbers and extended the time frame for producing vehicles with reserved numbers.
