Hellebuyck Rebounds from Sweaty Game 1, Jets Seek 2-0 Lead Over Avalanche

Despite a high-scoring, fast-paced first game of their playoff series, Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck remained composed and is preparing for a bounce-back performance in Game 2. Hellebuyck, a Vezina Trophy finalist, faced 46 shots in the Jets’ 7-6 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday. The teams combined for 12 goals in the game, marking only the second time in Stanley Cup playoff history that two teams have combined for at least six goals in multiple periods. Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar acknowledged Georgiev’s performance in Game 1 needs to improve, while backup netminder Justus Annunen remains out due to illness.
