Dubai once dreamt of constructing an underwater stadium with an astonishing 108ft glass roof, offering spectators a thrilling tennis experience while gazing into the ocean’s wonders. The ambitious project, designed by Polish architect Krzysztof Kotala, had a hefty price tag of £2 billion and aimed to be situated in a prime location between the iconic Burj Al Arab and Palm Jumeirah islands. Despite the groundbreaking concept and stunning visuals, the project ultimately faced several challenges that prevented it from progressing beyond the planning stage, including safety concerns, technical complexities, and financial hurdles.
