The DeKalb Tourism Visitor Center in Fort Payne, Alabama has undergone a transformation with new signage, making it more visible to locals and tourists alike. The improvements are part of a larger effort to promote DeKalb County’s unique attractions and boost tourism in the region.
Valley of Fire State Park is constructing a new visitor center, scheduled to open in fall 2025. The center will feature interactive exhibits showcasing the park’s cultural and geological history, replicas of slot canyons and landscapes, a larger gift shop, and an outdoor amphitheater. Construction is funded in part by a $7 million grant from the Helmsley Charitable Trust.
