Surprise as Welsh Village Tops English Identity League Table

A village in Wales has emerged as an unlikely hotspot for English identity, with more residents identifying as exclusively English than in any other part of the country. According to new Census data, 38.9% of people living in Broughton & Saltney, Flintshire identify solely as English, the highest proportion in the UK. This is in stark contrast to England, where only 14% of people identify as English-only. The findings highlight the complex and diverse nature of national identity in the UK, with many people identifying with multiple cultural and national affiliations.

Penmaenmawr to Welcome New Water Attraction Sblash Next Month

A small seaside town in Wales, Penmaenmawr, is getting a new water attraction, Sblash, next month. The inflatable course will feature a 26ft lake with an inflatable slide and floating trampolines. Other attractions include Mount Rainier, a 3.8m inflatable mountain, a freefall experience, and a Waverider. Sblash is expected to create seven new jobs in the area. The waterpark is set to open on May 18th, 2024, and will be located near other tourist attractions such as Penmaenmawr Beach, Penmaenmawr Museum, Conwy Castle, and Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.

Springboks Set for Year-End Tests Against Scotland, England, and Wales

South Africa’s Springboks have announced their year-end Test schedule, which includes matches against Scotland, England, and Wales. The tour will kick off in Edinburgh on November 10th against Scotland, followed by a match against England at Twickenham on November 16th. The Springboks will conclude their tour with a match against Wales in Cardiff on November 23rd. Coach Rassie Erasmus expressed his excitement for the upcoming tour, stating that it will provide the team with opportunities to challenge themselves against some of the top teams in the world.
