Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s claims that the state government was warned about potential landslides in Wayanad. Vijayan asserts that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) only issued an orange alert before the landslides, and a red alert was issued after the disaster struck. Shah, however, maintains that the Centre provided early warnings to the Kerala government about the possibility of heavy rainfall and landslides.
