The state alleges that over 20 companies artificially inflated prices on canned tuna and chicken items, resulting in overpayments by consumers. The settlement distributes funds to low-income individuals making less than 175% of the federal poverty level, with single-person households receiving $50 and households with two or more individuals receiving $120.
Police are searching for a former Yakima police officer suspected of killing two women, one outside an elementary school, and abducting his 1-year-old son. The suspect, Elias Huizar, 39, has not been found and is considered armed and dangerous.
