Kerala Rains: Vigilance Urged as Heavy Rains Lash State

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued red alerts for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Idukki districts, warning of heavy rains. The concerned authorities have imposed travel bans and mining activities in Idukki, Ernakulam, and Kottayam districts as a precautionary measure. The IMD predicts the southwest monsoon to arrive in Kerala on May 31, earlier than the usual June 1 arrival date.
