The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted various weather conditions in different parts of the country:
– Dust storm in Delhi today, followed by rain and thunderstorm in Northwestern states till Thursday.
– Very heavy rainfall in the Karnataka and Konkan coasts from Friday onwards.
– Heat wave conditions in parts of East India, Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh for the next 5 days.
– Isolated heavy rainfall in parts of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Rayalaseema in the coming days.
– Scattered light to moderate rainfall in Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Vidarbha, and Madhya Pradesh.
– Isolated to scattered light rainfall in hilly regions like Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
– Dust storm is very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi on Thursday, and in Rajasthan from 6-8 June.
– Heatwave conditions in isolated pockets of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, and severe heatwave in some parts of Uttar Pradesh till 9 June.

Bihar: Schools Closed Due to Severe Heatwave

Bihar is facing an intense heatwave, leading to the closure of all educational institutions, including schools, coaching institutes, and anganwadi centers, until June 8, 2024. The decision was made after reports of students and teachers fainting due to extreme heat. The heatwave is expected to continue until June 8, with temperatures reaching as high as 48.2 degrees Celsius in some areas. Several other states in India are also experiencing heatwaves, leading to the early commencement of summer vacations for schools.

Heatwave Conditions Forecast Over Eleven States in India

Schools in Tripura Closed for Four Days Due to Heatwave

The government of Tripura has ordered all schools in the state to remain closed for four days, starting from Wednesday, due to the prevailing heatwave. This decision was made in response to the advisory issued by the state revenue department, which expressed concern over the extremely hot and humid conditions that have been affecting the state for the past week. The notice issued by the education department states that all government, government-aided, and privately managed schools will remain closed from April 24 to 27, 2024.
