The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its latest monsoon update, indicating that the monsoon winds are expected to cover parts of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal in the next few days. The Southwest Monsoon winds have already arrived in Kerala, as well as several parts of Northeast India, including Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Meghalaya, and Assam. IMD scientists attribute the early onset of the monsoon to established wind patterns and the influence of Cyclone Remal. The IMD has predicted further monsoon advancements into various regions, including Lakshadweep, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Meghalaya, and parts of West Bengal and Sikkim. Meanwhile, Gujarat is expected to experience the onset of the monsoon on June 15, while the weather will remain dry over the following seven days in most parts of the state. Additionally, the IMD has issued warnings of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in several regions, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Vidarbha.
