The United Kingdom has pledged its largest-ever package of military aid to Ukraine, including Storm Shadow long-range precision missiles, as Western nations bolster Kyiv’s defenses in anticipation of a Russian summer offensive. The £500 million ($622 million) aid package also includes over 1,600 strike and air defense missiles, vessels, and vehicles.
Following the United States’ announcement of significant military assistance, the UK’s commitment reflects the urgent need for Ukraine to counter the expected Russian advance on its resource-depleted positions. The long-range Storm Shadow missiles will significantly enhance Ukraine’s ability to target Russian assets, such as headquarters, bunkers, and logistics hubs, far behind the front lines.
