IMD Forecasts Wet Spell, Thunderstorms, and Gusty Winds Over East and Central India Until May 16th

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a wet spell with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over East and Central India until May 14th and over South Peninsular India until May 16th. However, no significant concerns regarding heatwave are predicted during Phase 4 polling. Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall is predicted over various regions, with isolated heavy rainfall expected in some areas. IMD has also issued an orange alert for hailstorm and gusty winds over isolated pockets of East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh.

Heatwave to Scorch States, Northeast Braces for Wet Spell

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a heatwave will grip the states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka today. Rajasthan will endure the heatwave until May 9th, while Madhya Pradesh will experience it until May 10th. Meanwhile, a few northeastern states will face a wet spell in the coming days. Cyclonic circulations and strong winds are responsible for these weather conditions, which will lead to showers in southern states in the coming days.
