Durham Regional Police have arrested a 53-year-old man from Apsley, Ontario, identified as Sean Godfrey, in connection with an alleged historic sexual assault. The victim was reportedly employed by the suspect when the assault occurred at a business in Whitby. The suspect is accused of making inappropriate remarks and touching the victim inappropriately. Godfrey has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and released on an undertaking. The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) has confirmed that a pediatrician with the same name as the suspect practices in Whitby. The pediatrician was charged with three counts of sexual assault between January 1, 2020, and March 31, 2020. These allegations have not been proven in court.
