Rare Gold-Plated Nintendo Wii for Queen Elizabeth II Makes Public Debut

A unique, gold-plated Nintendo Wii console originally intended as a gift for Queen Elizabeth II has been unveiled at Gamescom 2024. This one-of-a-kind console, created by THQ as a marketing stunt, is estimated to be worth between $40,000 and $14,000. The console, which was ultimately never presented to the Queen due to protocol, has now made its way into the hands of collectors, with ConsoleVariations, a console database, showcasing it at Gamescom. The event also saw the unveiling of a high-resolution photograph of a rare GameCube prototype known as ‘Dolphin.’
