This translation layer, similar to Proton on the Steam Deck, translates Xbox software to run on Windows, opening up a world of possibilities for playing console exclusives on PC.

Ubisoft unveiled the first trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, showcasing two intriguing protagonists: Yasuke, the historical black samurai, and Naoe, a skilled Japanese shinobi. The open-world RPG set in 16th-century Japan is scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, across multiple platforms. The trailer hints at the unique playstyles of Yasuke and Naoe, with Yasuke excelling in direct combat and Naoe specializing in stealth. Notably, Yasuke is the first real-life historical figure to become a central character in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The trailer also features Fujibayashi Nagato, a prominent shinobi from the Iga Province and Naoe’s father in the game. Ubisoft is building anticipation for Assassin’s Creed Shadows in the lead-up to its official reveal at Ubisoft Forward on June 10th.
