The Indian men’s 4x400m relay team faced disappointment as they failed to finish their heat race at the World Athletics Relays on Sunday. Second leg runner Rajesh Ramesh was forced to withdraw due to severe leg cramps, dashing their hopes of securing a direct qualification for the Paris Olympics.
Rupal Chaudhary, the 2022 under-20 Worlds 400m bronze medallist, has made a comeback to the Indian team for the World Athletics Relays in Nassau, Bahamas, after recovering from a knee injury. The 19-year-old from Meerut figures in the Indian 4x400m women’s and mixed relay teams. Chaudhary is currently ranked No. 2 in India’s all-time junior 400m list with her 51.85s (2022, under-20 Worlds) and has a best of 52.79s this season.
